I'm going to go after the larger 2 vendors in the segment at both a price point and customer service front. Basically, the largest vendor is generating a lot of customer complaints regarding customer service (lack of) as well as a seemingly dis-interested attitude towards it's customers once the sale is closed.
The sad part of this is, I wrote the software package for a small company 6 years ago and it was eventually sold to the larger firm for well, 20+mil.
The company attitude angers me and I've come to a point where I want to deliver a superior product, cheaper price and truly deliver outstanding support (I have something similar to Talkback that Mozilla uses) that live reports to my bug tracking system in the event of an error..etc..
I've been developing this on top of my full time contract work for the past 8 months. It's going slow. Too slow. So I drafted a Business Plan to be able to start full time, first year op costs etc. Basically boils down to needing 600k.
I'm seeking an equity partner to help me get this going and off the ground. I have personel charts, sales forecasts all in the Business Plan. My thoughts are going to the eventual users (Doctors) and providing them with an investment opportunity to buy a "seat" which includes a 3% stake, free software/support for life (around a $25k value itself) as well as a seat on an advisory panel during R&D.
I need someone who would be able to chase down the 5,000+ leads I have (via phone initially) and generate buzz about what we are doing and solicite investment interest.
I'd prefer someone in the Northeast, but I am more interested in chemistry/philosophy compatibility as I want someone who is as passionate about created a GREAT (and small) company that is a fun place to work.
Am I asking too much? Seriously. If you have a serious interest email me. I'd love to chat and see where it lands.
